Golden milk a.k.a. the Ultimate Hormone-Balancing Elixir

Turmeric (its main ingredient) has natural anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. As a current humble student of Ayurveda (yoga's sister science), it considers turmeric an important tool in treating cramps, amenorrhea, endometriosis, fibroids and cysts. Bonus is that the coconut milk in it is a great source of healthy fat.
I’ve found the time it takes to brew up quite enjoyable too. Making the time to prepare something nourishing for yourself just feels so right.
It’s easiest to first make a turmeric paste which can then be kept in the fridge to have on hand.
Blend ½ cup organic virgin coconut oil, ½ cup organic turmeric powder, 1½ teaspoons black pepper, 1½ cup water and 1 tablespoon ginger powder (if ya got it) in a pot and simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
For da Golden Milk:
Warm 2 cups coconut milk and 1-2 teaspoons of the turmeric paste in a pot and whisk until fully mixed. Add in some cinnamon and honey to make it so yum. And If you’re feeling a little sassy- a dash of cayenne.
